Supplies

5 to 7 velvet millinery leaves. Small, decorative lace appliqués, from 4 to 6 inches long.

Twenty to 30 small, flatback rhinestones. Jewelry craft glue. One small comb. Needle and thread.

Step 1: Look for a well-embellished lace appliqué at a fabric store. Callan likes options with beading and/or metallic threads.

Step 2: Arrange the velvet millinery leaves under the lace appliqué with the wired ends hidden.

Step 3: Sew the leaves onto the back of the lace appliqué, making sure they are well-secured.

Step 4: Carefully glue the rhinestones onto the velvet leaves.

Step 5: Sew the entire lace and leaves section onto the comb.
